What are Kimagens?

The Kimagen is a type of dragon that ranges in many different subspecies. They are dragons that can’t reproduce and live their lives based on their environment. They hatch as eggs that are created by the King Kimagen. He creates the eggs and scatters them through the island they live on. They developed their fur pattern, scale, wings, fins, or any other feature based on where they are born. But they also have the ability to make small changes by relocating to a new area. There are time periods for certain changes. If a Kimagen doesn't want to have gills, they can move on land and slowly lose their gills and fins and start to become a Kimagen based on the terrain they choose to stay on.

Kimagen Types
There are 3 types of Kimagens: Kits, Kikos, and Kimbos.
Kits are the smallest of Kimagens. They have long pointed ears, a boxy muzzle, long tails, and have claws for fingers. Kits are usually energetic, playful, inquisitive, smart, and fast learners. They can manifest and learn abilities such as healing or telekinesis much faster than Kikos and Kimbos. But because of their small structure, get tired out very easily and often spend a large portion of their day conserving energy or sleeping. Kits typically eat small fruits, berries, and nuts to keep their energy up. They can eat meat as well, but they would prefer sweeter foods.
Kikos are the average sized for Kimagens. They have long pointed ears, a boxy muzzle, a muzzle horn, long tails, 1 row of spikes down its back and tail and have claws for fingers. Kikos are usually laid back, relaxed, inquisitive, smart, and protective. They can learn abilities such as healing or telekinesis as well but not as fast as a Kit. Kikos don’t get as tired out as Kits and can store more energy. Kikos can go days without eating but typically require more meat and plants. Kikos don’t need very much sugar so they don’t eat too many sweets. But if they eat sweets at a young age, they develop a very strong sweet tooth!
Kimbos are the largest and strongest of Kimagens. They have long pointed ears, a boxy muzzle, muzzle horn, long tails, have claws for fingers, 2 rows of spikes down their back and tail, curled horns and a large mane. Kimbos are very protective, strong, inquisitive, smart, cunning, and fast. They do everything they can to protect their group. They are also usually the leaders and warriors of Kimagens. Their horns are what give them pride and are very important. Because of their large build, they strictly eat meat. They do hunt occasionally but that’s only when storage is low. Anything that’s high in sugar can really disrupt a Kimbos digestive tract, so they try not to eat anything sweet. Kimbos also have competitions to see who the alpha Kimbo is. These competitions can be done with both male and female Kimbos. Since there are Kimagens that can heal wounds, they can compete and go all out. But they try not to cause any serious damage.
Abnormal Kimagen are typically Kimagens with some sort of mutation. This can include small structure but back spikes, or large build with no mane. Even though they don’t look like normal Kimagens, they still get treated the same as regular Kimagen. However, they won’t be able to participate in certain events such a Kimbos alpha competitions. Only structures are mutated but they their mentality is still the same as any other Kimagen.
In order to get an abnormal Kimagen, you will have to participate in auctions or adopting an already made character design. This goes for royalty, kings and queens.
Mating:
Even though Kimagens can’t physically reproduce, they can reproduce in spirit. When finding a mate, Kimagens search with a spiritual dance. When Kimagens make a special connection, they come up with their special dances in the heat of the moment. Once the spiritual dances is completed, both Kimagens will be mark with a special symbols somewhere on their fur and the spirit of a baby Kimagen with arise to the heavens where the king Kimagen resides. Kimagens can mate with any of the subspecies. If 2 Kikos mate, there is no guarantee that they will have a Kiko Kimagen.
Pattern development:
When sprouting out the Kimagen eggs, the king Kimagen scatters the eggs to different terrains. Babies develop their fur pattern and gain territorial features based on where they are born. An example of this would be a water Kimagen. Water Kimagens can develop gills, fins, webbed fingers and toes, and can have the ability to breathe under water. But the can still survive on land. Now if a Kimagen doesn’t want to be a certain type, they can migrate to another location and gain features for that terrain. So if a water Kimagen wants to gain wings, they would have to travel to somewhere high and live in the cloud for a certain period of time. But they would lose their water features. There is a special day in the year where they can change types without having to wait call the transferring. On that day when the moon is fullest, they stay in the terrain they want to transfer to. But this only be done a couple of times in their life.
